Paintings and drawings, realized in the last decades, in the characteristic pictorial pictorial language strongly material-iconic and very personal neo-expressionist by the Belgian artist. Szymkowicz, recognized among the greatest neo-expressionist painters operating in Europe between the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the 21st, works on a dimension of memory that extends from the family to the collective through the evocation of both historical and contemporary portraits ethically representative, both of situations of social tragedy that have gone through the last century, and which are a warning of the past but also a warning for the future.
